Studio Arts:

Students majoring in art at the lower-division level concentrate on learning the basic theoretical concepts, techniques, skills and materials of drawing, printmaking and painting. By learning these basics in a step-by-step process, students develop a better understanding of their powers of observation and self-expression. Students may prepare to transfer into an upper-division program in two-dimensional art.

To Transfer: Courses required for the associate degree major at Irvine Valley College may not be the same as those required for the major at a four-year institution. If you plan to transfer, consult the Counseling Center to identify necessary courses for the major at your transfer school, and to develop a plan that will best meet your educational and career goals.
