Ted Weatherford

Education/Background
Ted started his education locally and is a lifelong member of the community college community, earning an A.S. from Orange Coast College. He attended California State University, Fullerton, receiving his B.S. in Kinesiology with a minor in Dance. Ted then completed a Masters of Science in Sports Psychology at CSUF.
Interests
In addition to a career devoted to the creation and management of the IVC Adapted Fitness Program, Professor Weatherford was instrumental in elevating the IVC Dance program to all-time achievements in enrollments, graduates and transfers. In honor of these achievements and others, Ted Weatherford was honored as the 2005 State Commission on Physical Education as their College Physical Educator of the Year.

Education/Background
Silvie started her education at Orange Coast College, and has earned the following degrees: B.S. from Chapman University in Exercise Science and Movement, M.S. from CSUF in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology, M.A. from CSULB in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Adapted Physical Education, and DrPH in Public Health from Loma Linda University. Silvie is also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist . She frequently works with clinical populations and her research focuses on cardiovascular and fall-related adaptations to exercise interventions. Silvie is also a tenured instructor in Kinesiology at Cypress College and serves as a clinical exercise physiologist for the Tower Cancer Research Foundation in Los Angeles.
Interests
Silvie’s interests include hiking, yoga, gardening, reading and travel. She is also developing IVC’s first degree program in Public Health.
