Off-campus Library Access
Certain weekly assignments will require you to access library databases for reading to supplement the text and weekly material. The good news is that you will not have to go to the library, as both IVC and Saddleback allow distance learners off-campus access to many of their databases. Here is a brief tutorial on how to access the off-campus material for IVC and Saddleback College. IVC Students will only have off-campus access to the IVC library and Saddleback students will only have off-campus access to the Saddleback library.
How to access the IVC Off-campus Library Databases
From the IVC homepage, select the Library icon, then click on FIND ARTICLES (On and Off-campus)
The databases are listed by category, followed by the link to a database - Example All/General Subjects - PROQUEST. Scroll down and find the desired database and then click on the name (example - Proquest).
You will then come to the log in page. Please use your IVC Email log in user name and password, then select Login
(** If you are having problems accessing these databases after logging in, please email me for assistance).
Note for Norton Users:
The Norton Internet Security product may block access to some of these databases. Here are Instructions (PDF) to configure Norton to allow access to these databases.
Similar Internet security products (McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc.) may block access to these online resources. For each product, the host name of the database website has to be added to the product's list of "safe" websites. See your product documentation for more information.
Saddleback Off-campus Library Access
From the Saddleback Homepage, select Library
From the library page. Select Journals/Magazines - OFF CAMPUS,
You will then be asked to login. Your username is the first part of your Saddleback College email address, up to, but excluding, the "@" sign. (For example, if your Saddleback College email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org, then your username is jsmith12). Your password is your PIN number plus two zeros.
If you have any problems logging in, please refer to this page.
