Workforce Development Course Instructor

Position Summary

  • Part-time instructors needed to help design, facilitate, and teach short-term, fee-based, not-for-credit workforce training sessions.
  • Work a flexible schedule including daytime and/or evening sessions at the ATEP campus or at company sites in and around the Orange County area.
  • Proactively maintain and support all facets of a safe, positive, and effective learning environment.
  • Encourage an interactive culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, respect, life-long learning, ethics as well as personal and professional development.
  • Perform duties associated with lecture and/or lab instructing and assessing student progress including, but not limited to, grading, required recordkeeping, etc.
  • Instruct students, using approved course outcome guides.
  • Use student feedback to improve teaching.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the curriculum, course material, teaching tools, and course scheduling.
  • Ensure the readiness of facilities and supplies for class activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years practical work experience in related industry.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-related technologies.

Additional Experiences Considered

  • Bachelor's degree in related industry.
  • Teaching or training experience in related field.

Expertise must include one or more of the following:

  • SolidWorks (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • LabVIEW (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced)
  • Machine technology (HAAS mills and lathes)
  • MastercamX Programming
  • Automation design and integration
  • Electro-pneumatics
  • Electro-hydraulics
  • Relay logic and controls
  • PLC programming and trouble shooting
  • Vocational ESL
